Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

This privacy policy explains how Adam Rowley Psychotherapy Practice ("I", "me") collects and uses personal information submitted through this website. It applies to the website only. Clients receive a separate, fuller privacy notice covering clinical records when we begin working together.

Who is responsible for your data

Adam Rowley is the data controller for information submitted through this website, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom.

What I collect and why

When you use the contact or referral form on this website, I collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to arrange an initial conversation. I do not use it for marketing, and I do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

The legal basis

The legal basis for processing this information is legitimate interest: responding to an enquiry you have chosen to send. Where an enquiry leads to therapeutic work, any further processing is covered by the separate client privacy notice.

How your information is stored

Form submissions are processed and stored securely by Netlify, the platform that hosts this website, acting as a data processor on my behalf. Email correspondence is held within Google Workspace. Both providers maintain appropriate security and data protection standards.

How long I keep it

Enquiry information that does not lead to ongoing work is retained for no longer than twelve months, after which it is deleted. Information relating to clients is retained in line with professional and insurance requirements, as set out in the client privacy notice.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal information I hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, please use the contact form or write to me directly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. For visitor statistics I use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that collects anonymous, aggregated information such as page views and referring sites. It does not use cookies, does not store information on your device, and does not identify individual visitors.

Contact

If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please get in touch via the contact form on this website.
